Screening

Gelderse Vallei Hospital takes nutritional attention one step further; together with nutrition scientists from Wageningen University patients’ nutritional status is screened:

• At home
• By nurses from home care organizations, during consultation by a GP
• At a first visit to the ‘policlinic’

Improving

With early screening and extra nutritional care the patients’ condition can already improve before the start of hospital treatment. Both policy and research aim to improve quality of patient care and lowering costs of treatment resulting from the high incidence of malnourishment before start of hospital stay.
